My name is Susanna Hoare and I am a fully qualified accredited psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I provide psychotherapy in Truro.
I have found psychotherapy has benefitted me when I have needed to face and work through difficulties and has helped me to grow. I particularly like self-compassion practices which I believe invite a friendlier relationship towards thinking and feeling. I am interested in how existential themes of life, death and loss of purpose effect our ability to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.
I have a warm approachable gentle style and am helped by Mindfulness practices as well as drawing support and strength from nature and my love of animals.
I follow the ethical guidelines of UKCP.
I am an approved Affiliate Counsellor for an Employer Assistance Provider (EAP) and I continue to work within addiction for a private healthcare organisation.
Ongoing professional development is important to me so that I can expand my thinking and skills and keep up to date with current research and new discoveries. I regularly undertake additional training. I am particularly interested in the body and how the body speaks from the inside to the outside.
I have held a spiritual practice for 22 years and am a member of Soka Gakkai International whose activities focus on peace, culture and education.
